This month's discussion topic: Anti-feminism & internalised misogyny

An informal discussion centering on a particular topic around feminism, gender, issues affecting women, and related subjects. The topic is usually decided in advance, either at a previous meeting or via our email list) .

You don’t need to identify as feminist to come along, just to be open to talking constructively about feminism, gender inequality and other oppressions, and other issues affecting women’s lives. Pro-feminist men are very welcome, but should respect that that the discussion and topics for discussion will be women-led and women-centred. (Very occasionally we may decide in advance that a particular discussion topic will be women-only).

Sometimes someone might have researched & prepared an introduction to the topic, while at other times we will just start generally talking around the subject. Anyone is welcome to suggest a topic for a future meeting – if there is an issue you are burning to explore, or trying to make sense of, or a sexist experience you need to rant about.

We will often share, via the email list & here on the website, a variety of links to suggested reading such as blog articles around the topic in advance, to help us get started thinking about the discussion topic but reading any of it is entirely optional!

We usually finish about 10pm
