could be made via email at newsnotprofit@merseymail.com

Jerry wondered about a Naomi Klein inspired piece taking up the theme of
disaster capitalism that ties in with the current 11/9 whohar. There were no
volunteers.

Maria H. thought she might get an obituary together about Anita Roddick.

School Finger Printing

Kai reported that No2ID have been leafleting parents about the finger
printing of students by schools with no parental consultation. He said there
had been a great deal of surprise and concern expressed by many he had
spoken to.

Getting Basement Ready

Matt T. said that there was still loads of work to do and he didn't know who
was going to do it. While the building work was in hand and being done by
the usual suspects ie Matt T. Matt M. Merlin, Jerry and Steve (apologies if
anyone is left out) no one had taken responsibility for the clearing up and
cleaning. Maria suggested that the opening would provide an opportunity for
new blood to come into the group and some of the remaining building
programme could be shared with new members and interested visitors.

It was agreed that Merlin would use his car to bin cardboard and other
rubbish but wood would be kept and stored in the right hand alcove and under
the stairs.

After a report of another incident where scallies came into the basement
after the back door was left unlocked and unattended, Sara had a moan. She
pointed out that, after injuries were suffered by a worker in one of the
tenant organisations that share the building as a consequence of a previous
invasion, it was important for other tenants to feel secure.

She tried not to come off all bossy but felt it only fair to point out that
this issue was in danger of becoming a possible breach of tenancy as it was
at least the fourth, possibly the fifth, occasion that scallies had come
into the building through this door.

Food

It was agreed that people would bring a vegan dish if they could manage it,
to take pressure off the café collective who normally do catering as they
will be busy clearing cleaning and decorating.

-It was agreed that a cd player would be bought for the center for about
£70 - 80

-Lots of people had called in to nfn specifically to get hold of a leaflet
for the opening and the following week of events.
-Under the pavement have asked for someone from the center to provide talk
about the opening on their show. Katie to do.

opinions into a proposal for the next meeting. No consensus attempted.
